My faithfull mpower is slowly becoming obsolete. I've heard good things about the apex and am wondering how it is in real life. I'm thinking of trading in my mpower and getting the lions club to help pay for an apex. Thoughts, reviews, other suggestions? Thanks. Tiffany
What exactly do you intend to use it for? If you think you'd benefit from in-built wireless, and ethernet, a greater storage capacity, and a generally thinner/lighter machine, then the Apex could be the way to go.
Whilst the mPower is not end of life just yet, upgrades for that platform will be few and far between. I believe two more are promised.
I could directly benefit from all those things. I intend to work with antique music nd text archives. I hope to to assist my husband in his work. The apex would make connectivity to the new laptop easier and make me a more viable volunteer. I'd like to see what 8 gigs is like on a notetaker. The fact that few upgrades are in the cards I think it would be wise to donate my machine to take the price down a bit.
Hmmm, quite a hard decision for you...
Apex does have its potentials and shortcomings, just like any product. As far as the unit is concerned, it does have potential with 8 GB of Flash Disk (which is way more than the mPower) and slightly better Bluetooth over the mPower. However, it does have disadvantages, such as no PDF and slightly less powerful file management facilities agaisnt other PDA's on the market.
Just message me privately if you need more info, since I think others would like to chime about other products and Apex comparisons (which happens around this time - CSUN conference time).
